I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the session yesterday. I found the moderation and structure of the class to be very enjoyable, and I appreciated the opportunity to chat about the book. As someone who has never participated in a book club before, I feel very fortunate to have found such an amazing opportunity.

Hey!  I'm Abbie...

I have a deep passion for the benefits of film and literature as part of an English learners journey.  They expose learners to authentic language use, cultural nuances, and varied contexts, which helps reinforce what they learn in class and provides additional opportunities for practice.

In my view, the biggest obstacle to speaking English is a lack of confidence. My students typically have strong comprehension skills (B1, B1+, B2, and C1), but they often don't realise it. They need a place to practice that is supportive and encouraging. I've put a lot of effort into creating such environments in my one-to-one teaching, book and film clubs  and conversation classes, where everyone feels appreciated, can learn from their mistakes without fear of judgment, and has a great time.
